GPEL Celebrates Frida Kahlo
July 6, 2015

Today GPEL honors the great Frida Kahlo's life and work. Growing up in the early 1900s, Frida ripped the cap off heteronormative customs with her open bisexuality and disregard for gender binaries. This family portrait is an example of that: dressed in men's clothes with slicked back hair, Frida's rebellious and shocking debonair styling was something notable from a woman in the mid 1920s.
